Carrier strike group 3 continues to sail toward the Strait of Hurmuz.
Iranian harassment of the strike group grows bolder with each passing hour. Their speedboats have exchanged fire with the strike group. Iranian fighters are continually intercepted by the CAP.
Iranian frigates have left port in Bandar Abass and set up a blockade ahead of the strike group. Their blockade is unlawful as the strike group is sailing in international waters.
The situation continues to escalate and a direct confrontation is becoming unavoidable.
The vigilantes (Yourself) will continue BAR CAP operations ahead of the strike group in an effort to ward off Iranian aggressors.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT ARE WEAPONS HOLD UNLESS AUTHORISED
This is a 70-minute (Aprox) Combat Air Patrol of the Persian Gulf.
The mission is fully voiced and scripted.
You will Carry out a Cold and Dark start aboard the Stennis and Rendezvous with the rest of your flight at waypoint 3.
Essential Skills for this mission include:
Formation Flying.
Manual co-ordinate entry to the HSI.
Employment of AGM65F – IR Maverick’s and CBU-99 Canister Munitions.
BFM tactics
Case one recovery.
This is the third instalment of “CARRIER STRIKE GROUP 3” and I highly recommend you complete the first two missions to gain an understanding of the tactical situation.
While this is a fictional scenario, many of the events you’ll encounter are draw inspiration from historical events in the Persian Gulf.
I have tried to create a Scenario that is both technically challenging and enjoyable. I hope you enjoy it and look forward to your comments and feedback.
