Cockpit Familiarisation and Training flight for the F-86F Sabre. Being a VR pilot, I create a series of custom kneeboards and somewhat inspired by Chuck's amazing guides. I wanted to be able to learn-as-I-go from within the headset and the mission-specific kneeboard missions also act as a handy 'refresher' when you come back to a module after a time away.<br />
This particular single mission flight contains 49 kneeboard plates covering COCKPIT FAMILIARISATION, STARTUP PROCEDURE, TAKEOFF, ENGINE MANAGEMENT & FLAMEOUTS and LANDING.

Being a VR pilot, I’m creating a series of custom kneeboard-filled training missions for specific aircraft that are heavily inspired by Chuck's amazing guides as well as YouTube tutorials (of which I will credit as n ecessary at the bottom). Originally making them for personal use as I wanted to be able to learn-as-I-go from within the headset and the mission-specific kneeboard missions also act as a handy 'refresher' when you come back to a module after a time away; I thought maybe I’d share.<br />
The kneeboard is a truly fantastic and necessary tool for the VR pilot as it’s not so easy to view reference info etc and having 360 degrees of peripheral vision, the kneeboard can be happily left in view without it getting in the way. <br />
Only tested using the Reverb Pro and it’s excellent resolution but I’ve tried to make kneeboard text as large and easy-to-read as possible.<br />
Works just as well without VR.<br />

Training Mission 1 puts you in a cold and dark Sabre on the ramp at Sochi. Your call sign is ‘Springfield 1-1’ It contains 49 mission-specific kneeboard plates covering COCKPIT FAMILIARISATION, STARTUP PROCEDURE, TAKEOFF, ENGINE MANAGEMENT & FLAMEOUTS and LANDING. Runway 24 is being used today and the Sabre on your left is just about to depart and will demonstrate the taxi route.
