Ace Combat inspired skin for the A-10C Warthog

The embers of war had burned long before the fighting had started between Erusea and Amber, only hours after the San Salvacion and Hatties’ armed forces had capitulated, the first barrage between the two neighbors would be fired. For the next week, the Amberian Army, Air Force and Marines would fight lopsided battle after lopsided battle until the Eruseans would eventually roll over their lines and push the fighting further east.
However, in all that time, the Amberian military did not surrender. With the occupation of their country only came the end to two operations, and the start of one more. At the turn of the century, as massive humanitarian operations were taking place, sects of the Amberian military had quietly started Operations Oasis and Sayf. Across the vast uninhabitable stretches of desert that was the Whiskey Corridor; Air Bases, supply depots and bunkers were constructed. With the official capitulation of the Amberian civil government, the surviving armed forces retreated to these air bases, trading their heavy armored equipment for light trucks. It is unknown the exact day Operation Marid began, but on the morning of January 5th 2003 the first Erusean convoy would fall under attack by an unknown enemy aircraft. Two days later, a supply train would be overdue, Erusean forces would find its still burning wreckage hours later. What had been first thought of as rumors or insurgent activity quickly earned the ire of Erusean Air power in the region as more and more supply convoys and helicopters would be targeted by unknown A-10s.
The 375th Fighter Squadron was the culmination of Operation Marid. Operating from the Oasis air bases, the Pilots would use hit-and-run tactics, and rarely would use the same airbases twice in a row for an assault. The pilots would take their name from an Erusean Intelligence report that had simply dubbed them ‘The Raiders’, and the pilots would take pride in the fear Eruseans would have walking across their patch of desert. Going forth as a vengeful breath of a lost nation, their A-10 attack aircraft would wreak havoc across Erusea’s vulnerable belly for over a year until being formally integrated into ISAF in the late stages of the war.
